Why network with Resume cards instead of traditional business cards?
Traditional business cards are typically limited to basic information such as name, title, phone numbers, and email address. Thumbnail Resume™ cards include the same information plus formatted areas for your most valuable credentials such as:
- Degrees
- Certifications
- Schools attended
- Product offerings
- Client Lists
-
Industry expertise
-
Past employers
-
...and any other information your contacts need to remember about you
Presenting a Resume card instantly differentiates you, and ensures that networking and sales contacts have your most important information. From among a stack of typical business cards, your Thumbnail Resume™ card will stand out, and represent you well long after your initial meeting.
I have seen free business cards advertised on the web, why should I pay for cards? Free business cards are available on the web but may limit your choice of Card stocks, Ink colors, and most importantly, the type of Information that you can enter. If your needs are limited to a calling card containing basic information, this may be a cost-effective solution.
If you want to ensure that your networking contacts are left with your most valuable credentials, and will be more likely to remember you long after your meeting, a Thumbnail Resume™ Card is well worth the purchase. A basic resume card including Premium Bright White card stock and one of 11 ink colors is available for only $38.00 for 500 cards, or $41.00 for 1,000 cards.
How many cards should I order; 500 or 1000?
Consider the following questions when deciding how many cards to order; they will help you determine how many contacts you are likely to make, and how many opportunities you may have to hand out your card:
- How many networking opportunities do you typically have in a month? These can be attendance of formal networking events, or informal contacts you make during a normal day.
- What is the size of your potential networking audience? This can be a trade show where you expect to meet 100 people, or the people you typically meet during a normal day.
- Is there a chance that changes will be made to your cards in the near future? This could be the case if you planned to list additional certifications, degrees, product offerings, etc.
- There is typically a small difference in price between 500 and 1,000 cards, so unless you expect your information to change frequently, it is usually economical to purchase 1,000 cards.
Are Resume Cards the same size as standard business cards? Yes. All Resume cards are 2” x 3.5”. Our Tent cards are also 2” x 3.5” when folded, and 4”x3.5” when opened.
Can I put a photograph on my card? Yes. One and Two-sided cards each offer full-color Photo cards. If you select a photo card, you will be able to upload a full-color photograph, and will have all ink colors available for your text. (Note that raised ink (thermographic) printing is not available on photo cards.)
How do I decide if I need a 1-sided, 2-sided, or tent card? The card style you select should be determined by how much information you want to share with networking contacts or potential customers. The following choices are available:
- 1-side - Printing on the front only (see samples )
- 2-side - Printing on the front and back (see samples )
- Tent -(Special folded card) = Printing on the front, inside top, and inside bottom (see samples )
In addition to the selections above, you may also choose between Horizontal and Vertical cards (for 1 & 2-sided cards). The choice between horizontal and vertical is made based on personal preference, as well as the type of information you plan to enter.
As an example, horizontal cards lend themselves well to longer paragraphs and short phrases, whereas vertical cards lend themselves well to shorter paragraphs and long lists of information.
Are there resources available to assist me in completing a card?
